Sushmita Sen made heads turn as she arrived with Shilpa Shetty’s Diwali bash on Saturday night. The actress gave a strong lesson in re-wearing outfits with her appearance.
For the bash, Sushmita repeated her stunning gold saree, which she had previously worn during her appearance on Koffee with Karan. She graced the premiere season of the popular chat show back in 2005 and had shared the couch with Sanjay Dutt.The sheer gold drape features sequins all over with a dazzling border. Re-wearing a decade old saree, simply sends out a strong message about the importance of sustainability in fashion.
Sushmita had previously paired her saree with a stunning halter-neck blouse, but she exchanged it for a full-sleeve glittering number for the festive season. She completed her OOTN with a glittering neckpiece featuring an emerald pendant. For the Diwali party, Sushmita was accompanied by former-beau Rohman Shawl.
Currently, Sushmita Sen is winning accolades for her performance in the third season of her much popular action series ‘Aarya’. Speaking about collaborating with Ram Madhvani for this OTT venture, Sushmita had shared, “I had kind of stagnated as an actor. I was not learning anything, and I wanted to learn. I did not want to do the old stuff again, almost like running a factory of what is almost a creative endeavor. Then I met Ram, and he showed me Aarya. In flat five minutes, I said yes, and I thought, ‘My god, I have to pull this off. He came to me and said, ‘I’ll need you to do workshops. You’ll have to unlearn and relearn.’ I was like, ‘This is what I’ve been wanting. There’s a lot I have to unlearn because I’m a 90s kid and a 90s actor.’ So there was a lot to do there, and the process was made so friendly and so warm that I came back as a newcomer with a completely different approach.”
