Actor Lakshya‘s big Bollywood debut film Dostana 2 may not have made it to the big screens, but, according to the latest reports, the actor may have bagged his next Karan Johar film.
The actor, who featured in the action-packed film Kill that will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 2023, has reportedly bagged another high-octane action flick that is said to be KJo’s next big venture.
A report on Bollywoodhungama.com claims that the filmmaker is set to launch the actor as a new action hero in the industry. Although much is not known about the film’s plot, Lakshya will likely be seen playing the role of the antagonist, thus showcasing his versatility.
Karan, on his 50th birthday on May 25 announced that he will be directing an action film. In a social media post, he wrote, “The one aspect that I believe I am most passionate about is being a filmmaker! In the past I have always taken long gaps between my films but today on this special day I would like to announce my next directorial feature. Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will release on the 10th February 2023. And I will commence the shoot of my ACTION FILM in April 2023. Need your blessings and love! And I have to shamelessly sign off by saying Jugjugg Jeeyp to all of you (sic).”
The film ‘Kill’ is said to be one of the ‘most violent’ movies ever made in India. KJo shared the poster and wrote, “The journey begins at the Toronto International Film Festival! ‘KILL’ – an action-packed high octane film starring Lakshya – the next action hero to look out for. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the film will premier at Midnight Madness at TIFF 2023. Stay tuned, the official poster and teaser will be announced soon!”
The film’s synopsis reads, “a passenger train bound for New Delhi becomes a bloody battleground of brutal close-quarters combat as a pair of commandos square off against a 40-strong army of invading bandits.”
On the work front, the hunk is also awaiting the release of his film ‘Bedhadak’, which will see him starring opposite Shanaya Kapoor and Gurfateh Pirzada. The Shashank Khaitan directorial is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
