Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ has brought the audience back to the theaters in big numbers. Apart from all the accolades and appreciation, the film has also earned some brickbats too, especially from the Pakistani audience.
‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha‘ was known for its dialogue, “Hamara Hindustan zindabad tha, zindabad hai, aur zindabad rahega”, the sequel featured Sunny telling the Pakistani Army Commander, “Agar Aaj bhi apke desh ke logon ko Bharat waapas jaane ka mauka mile… toh aadha Pakistan khali ho jayega” (Given a chance even today, half of Muslims from Pakistan would like to settle in India).”
This dialogue hasn’t gone down well with the Pakistani population, who are criticizing the film and the lead actor Sunny Deol.In a video which has now gone viral, a journalist is seen asking Pakistani folks about their reaction to ‘Gadar 2’.A viewer shared, “One Pakistani is equal to a thousands of Indian soldiers” and he also challenged Sunny Deol to have a one-to-one fight with him. Seems like ‘Gadar 2’ dialogue has snowballed into a bitter controversy across the border.
At the box office, ‘Gadar 2’ has become the second fastest film to enter the 100 crore club. With the Independence Day holiday tomorrow, the film might just become the fastest to enter the 200 crore club too!
