Sharib Hashmi, known for his notable performances in projects like ‘The Family Man’, ‘The Great Indian Murder’ and ‘Asur’, is currently basking in the glory of a highly rewarding phase in his career. Although he embarked on his journey in the film industry with movies like ‘Filmistaan’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan‘, the subsequent years didn’t pan out as anticipated. However, thanks to the rise of OTT platforms, Sharib has found himself back on track.
Reflecting on this gratifying phase in his career, Sharib humbly states, “But I aspire for more; I believe I have merely scratched the surface of what I set out to achieve. I hope to receive continued blessings from God. I am also immensely grateful to everyone who supported me during my challenging times and provided me with opportunities when no one else did.”
When it comes to the kind of roles he desires, Sharib expresses his willingness to explore diverse characters. He affirms, “I yearn to be part of a compelling script and a commendable project. My focus lies in portraying a remarkable role. It can be of any nature—be it negative, positive, a cop, a villain, a goon, a dacoit, or even a lawyer. I simply aspire to portray characters that resonate with me. I crave to collaborate with talented and like-minded individuals.”
Among Sharib’s remarkable works, ‘The Family Man’ stands out prominently, where he skillfully portrays the character of JK Talpade, a trusted confidante and colleague of Manoj Bajpayee‘s character. The news has already circulated that the highly anticipated third season of the show will commence soon, and Manoj has already discussed the financial aspects of the project. When asked if the makers have approached him for a similar discussion, Sharib jovially responds, “No, I haven’t discussed money; I’ve only discussed dates with him. I am willing to set aside all my ongoing commitments to return to the sets of ‘The Family Man.’ Additionally, I sincerely hope that a spin-off series centered around my character, Talpade, materializes someday.”
Furthermore, Sharib’s latest film, ‘Opium’ has garnered recognition by being selected in multiple categories for the esteemed New York Film Festival. He eagerly awaits the film’s response in the United States. ‘Opium’ is an anthology consisting of five stories, each offering a distinctive narrative.
