Movie release dates are an important strategy, as makers try to get the best possible dates for their flicks. The whole industry went into a tizzy when Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was pushed back from June 2 to September 7. This led to a lot of movies altering their dates to avoid clashes with King Khan. However, a couple of makers made no changes to their projects, and one of them is Akshay Kumar’s Startup, which will release on September 1.
Startup is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil Film, Soorarai Pottru, which starred Suriya. Everyone felt that because of Jawan, Startup will move, as it will have only one week of theater time, given that Jawan is releasing on September 7. However, the team is confident about the project and claims that the movie caters to a different set of audience than a Shah Rukh Khan film.
Post that, Akshay Kumar will be seen in The Great Indian Rescue, a biopic of engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, set against the backdrop of the coal mine rescue mission, 1989. The team is currently working on some tentative release dates in October and should make a decision in the next two weeks.
