Sooraj Pancholi visits Siddhi Vinayak temple after getting acquitted in Jiah Khan death case; gets trolled for holding Lord Ganesha’s photo after touching his shoes | Hindi Movie News

Jiah Khan was found dead at her home in Juhu on June 3, 2013. Since then, her death remains a mystery and while it was believed to be suicide, Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan had accused her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi of abetting her daughter. Rabia had also alleged that Jiah was murdered. A suicide note was found which said that Jiah was in an abusive relationship with Sooraj and he was arrested on the charges of abetment.
However, a decade later, the court has declared him ‘not guilty’ due to lack of proper evidence. The court has also questioned the authenticity of this suicide note. The changing statements of Jiah’s mother have further led to suspicion on her more than anyone else.
Post this court’s order, Sooraj visited Siddhi Vinayak temple today to seek blessings.

However, a video of him went viral, where he could be seen posing for the paparazzi while holding Lord Ganesha’s picture in his hand. He was holding Lord Ganesha’s frame after touching his shoes due to which he got terribly trolled by netizens. They made comments like ‘hand wash kar’. Another user wrote, “Jootey touch kar ke fir bhagwaan ki photo touch kiya. Kyun jaatey hain aise log mandir jab kuch pata Na ho.”

Sooraj told ETimes in an interview that today he has woken up like a completely new person. He also opened up on his incident and the relationship with Jiah and said, “What happened to Jiah was really unfortunate. But it was beyond my control. She did not need me as much as she needed her family. She needed the love and support of her own immediate family, not her boyfriend. I hardly knew her for five months. I did the best that I could for that short period.”
