After Dostana 2 feud, Kartik Aaryan teams up with Karan Johar for a war drama | Hindi Movie News

Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar first teamed up for a sequel to Dostana, the film also starred Janhvi Kapoor and Laksshya Kapoor. But midway through the film Kartik and the producer had a fall out with KJo, ultimately leading to the film being put on a back burner. Few months down the road, the two of them were spotted at a couple of events in India and abroad and soon buzz suggested that they were planning to do a film together.

Finally putting an end to all speculation, Karan Johar has announced Kartik Aaryan as the hero of his next movie, which he is producing with Ektaa R Kapoor.This war drama will be directed bySandeep Modi, who called the shots for Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer ‘The Night Manager’ web series.
Announcing the project, Karan Johar shared on Instagram, “Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day!!
Extremely thrilled to announce @dharmamovies & @balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented @kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August, 2025!!!! Ekta Kapoor also welcomed Kartik on board and shared, “Happy birthday @kartikaaryan Finally getting to partner with d best. @karanjohar Lights, camera and…surprise!

We are thrilled to announce a new story brewing that has found a home with Dharma Productions & Balaji Telefilms.”
This yet untitled film is written by Aseem Arora and celebrates the Indian Army. The film is expected to go on floors in the latter half of 2024 and will hit the screens on August 15, 2025. In the meantime Kartik is busy with Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion. He also has Mukesh Bhatt’s ‘Aashiqui 3’ and Bhushan Kumar- Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ in the pipeline.
