The Atlee directorial Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in a special cameo, has surpassed the earnings of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 in just 8 days. While Jawan has now become the second highest grossing film of all time, the movie has shown a fantastic hold on its second Friday as well.
According to Box Office India, the collections of Jawan have been pretty similar to the Thursday.Though there’s a slight drop, the movie will manage to collect Rs 16-17 crore net on day 9.
The movie is expected to hold well throughout the week with a big push in its collection over the weekend. If it continues the momentum, Jawan will be eyeing on crossing Rs 500 crore mark in the domestic market.
SRK now carries the distinction of leading this year’s two certified blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan. It will be rare occurrence for Hindi cinema if Jawan makes it to the Rs 1000 crore club like Pathaan. It remains to be seen if the superstar will score a hat-trick with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, ending his four-year hiatus from the silver screen.
