Saiyami Kher recently opened up about the unrealistic beauty standards in Bollywood. The actress revealed that she was asked to get a lip and nose job done when she was starting out in the industry.

Talking about the same, she told a news portal that there were a lot of people who said she should get a lip jobdone and even a nose job. According to her, it was very wrong advice to give to an 18-year-old.

It’s like the society you’re living in is cooperating and accepting the way you are, but you don’t fit the norms set by the industry. However, Saiyami shared that those norms really didn’t bother her, but she hopes they completely disappear from the industry. According to her, we need to accept diversity in showbiz.Elaborating further, Saiyami added that things are getting better. There is more awareness and we are celebrating these days with regards to everything, which is very necessary in films, as it’s a large medium where people get easily influenced, she told Hindustan Times.

On the work front, Saiyami will next be seen in R Balki‘s ‘Ghoomer‘ co-starring Angad Bedi, Shabana Azmi and Abhishek Bachchan. The film tells a triumphant story of a paraplegic sports person who excels as a cricketer under the guidance of her coach.

The film is all set to have a theatrical release on August 18.
