Rohit Roy, who has taken an exit from Rohit Shetty’s stunt based show Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 due to injury, has revealed that his daughter Kiara Roy was approached for Zoya Akhtar‘s directorial The Archies.
He told The Indian Express that Excel had called him about a year and a half back and asked him if his daughter was willing to star in the film. He told them that she is studying at Brown University but I will check.
Rohit did tell his daughter about the film offer but she couldn’t give it a thought given the space she is in, where competition is intense. However, he has told Kiara that if she decides to get into acting once she completes her education, they would fully support her.
When he was asked if he is planning to launch his daughter given the fact that he is also a writer and director, Rohit thinks that it’s one of the biggest mistakes and the worst thing for filmmakers to direct their own kids. He may produce for her but not direct her.

He then joked that his daughter would rather want to be directed by Karan Johar than him. He reasoned that he would not be able to push the envelope if he decides to direct his daughter’s first film. He added that it would be best if she’s directed by someone who works with her only as a creative collaborator. She also stressed that filmmakers should never launch their kids.
The Archies marks the acting debut of Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and Sridevi-Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor. Yuvraj Menda is also a part of the project. Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda will also be seen in the film.
