Ever since Priyanka Chopra did the two films in the Don series with Shah Rukh Khan she had been craving to do her own version of the superslick action hero.
“I actually want to play Don, not Roma,” Priyanka had said.
She was soon done with Don as she quit Bollywood to pursue a career in the West. But the ‘Don’ within her never got done.
That’s when Citadel came into her life.
A source in the know reveals, “When Citadel came her way, Priyanka felt a huge sense of kinship to the role. This is what she wanted to play ever since she did Don.Citadel is like a gender-flipped Don, all the intrigue, global action and double agenting.”
Incidentally when Priyanka had done Anurag Basu’s Barfi she had taken tips from Shah Rukh on how to play an autistic character, as he had played a similar character in My Name Is Khan.During Don SRK would show Priyanka how to do the action scenes.
