The wait for the trailer of the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Adipurush‘ is almost over! The leading man announced in a social media post on Saturday, that the official clip will have a global debut on 9th May 2023.
The film which is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2023, will have its trailer launched not only in India but in territories across the USA, Canada, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Japan; Africa, UK, Russia and Egypt, read an official statement.
This epic directed by Om Raut, depicts the Indian epic of ‘The Ramayana‘ with Prabhas essaying the role of lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
The latest update comes as the film and its leading cast head to the Tribeca Film Festival, where it will have its world premiere on June 13. The film that is slated for its release on June 16 will be screened in 3D format as ‘Midnight Offering’ at the festival.
It was “disheartening” for the team Adipurush when the film’s first teaser was heavily criticised on social media for the quality of visual effects as well as its depiction of Hindu deities. However, taking it in his stride, director Om Raut said in an interview with PTI, “Getting those five-six months extra was very important for us. We gave that time to our visual effects studios to make their work better.”
“Challenges are always there but that will only make our cinema better and journey stronger. Especially with a film like this, which is a first of its kind in India, as we have used technology that is seen in big Hollywood films like Marvels, DC and ‘Avatar’, ” he added.
