Nushrratt Bharuccha, who made her debut in 2006 with ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’, became a household name after her much-loved performance in Luv Ranjan’s ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama‘ franchise.
However, did you know that Nushrratt auditioned for Latika’s role in Danny Boyle‘s ‘Slumdog Millionaire‘? Yes, you read that right! While her acting skills were commendable, the makers of the film could not give her the role because she did not look the part. The role of Latika was then given to Freida Pinto.

During an interview with a news portal in 2020, the actress revealed that the makers told her that she looked too pretty to look like she came from a slum. Nushrratt added that she didn’t know whether to take it as a compliment or as a rejection.

Further, the actress shared her fondest memory with Danny. The actress recalled sitting with the director and doing script reading. He was playing Dev, and she was playing Latika. Nushrratt also said that he gave her the script and told her to go home and read it and tell him what she thinks about it. The actress added that giving her feedback to the Hollywood filmmaker was the highlight.
