Sanjay Khan birthday: A career full of memorable songs | Hindi Movie News

During his time Sanjay Khan was a part of several musical blockbusters. Some of the biggest chart masalas of the 1960s came from this Khan’s lips. Aa Lag Ja Gale Dilruba in Dus Lakh (1966) was one of Khan’s earliest hit songs. It was sung by Mohammed Rafi who remained his voice almost throughout his career.

In Abhilasha (1968) Khan had the hit Rafi song Wadiyan Mera Daman, and in the blockbuster Ek Phool Do Maali he had the superhit Yeh Parda Hataa Do, a duet with Asha Bhosle. In Intaqam (1970) all the Lata Mangeshkar songs were filmed on Sadhana and Helen. Sanjay Khan had only one Rafi solo. And what a song that was: Jo Unki Tamanna Hai Barbaad Ho Ja…

In 1971 Sanjay sang the glorious Rut Hai Milan Ki to Mumtaz in Mela. Another chartbuster. Perhaps Sanjay Khan’s most well known song is Rafi’s exquisite Maine Poocha Chand Se in Abdullah, the film Khan directed.
