Ajay Devgn got 2023 off to an action-packed start with director Rohit Shetty as they officially sat down today for the first script narration of their upcoming project ‘Singham Again’.

“Made a good start to the New Year with #RohitShetty’s narration of Singham Again,” the actor captioned a photo that saw him strike a post with his director.

Dropping hints about the script, the actor wrote, “The script I heard is (lit emoticon) God willing this will be our 11th blockbuster.”

After an unsuccessful run at the box office with ‘Cirkus’, Rohit is gearing up to get this third ‘Singham’ film rolling. Titled ‘Singham Again’, the film will see Ajay returning in the lead role as the no-nonsense cop who kicked off Bollywood’s first cop universe.

Rohit, revealed during a promotional interview last month that he is excited to start work on the film as he says the script has ‘turned out very well’. He added that fans of the cop franchise can expect the film to be a ‘larger than life’ flick.

Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will also be boarding the cop universe, the filmmaker confirmed. “Everybody keeps asking me when I’ll introduce ‘Lady Singham’. So, here it is. Deepika Padukone will be the Lady Singham in ‘Singham Again’. She is my lady bomb from the cop universe, and we’re going to start working together on it next year,” the filmmaker told reporters at an event last month.

The director also revealed that his ‘Cirkus’ star Ranveer Singh will return as his character Simmba in the film. Singh also teased fans saying that he ‘had goosebumps’ when Shetty narrated the script to him.

‘Singham Again’ will reportedly go on floors in early 2023.
