Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has been ruling the big screen for almost a decade now. The actor has indeed come a long way with rich content-driven and commercial films. However, there was a time, when the actor had almost given up on acting, as he felt that the career was far-fetched. He shared that he saw, ‘all the new upstarts were somebody with great legacy’.

In an interview with a news portal, Ranveer shared that back when he started out he felt that at that point Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar were the only actors in the ‘glitzy industry from the outside’. And hence, he decided to not to pursue acting as a profession.

He further revealed that it was after four years of giving up on his acting journey, he started to write. At that time, he thought even if the career looked far-fetched, he should at least give in his best shot. He added that he could ‘accept it not happening’, but couldn’t accept ‘not giving it my best shot’.

Recollecting his childhood days, Ranveer shared that when he was in the 10th grade, he wanted to act. “At the time (around the year 2000), I looked around me and all the new upstarts were somebody with some kind of great legacy; whose fathers were great superstars or big-time producers or directors. So, I gave it up.”

He revealed that during his struggling years, his personal space had a vision board. Apparently his sister photoshopped his face on to two posters of Yash Raj Films and had even photoshopped his face on to a person holding a Filmfare award! Calling it the ‘most surreal story’, Ranveer said that he did manifest it, hustled hard and created his own luck’.

Meanwhile on the work front, Ranveer Singh is currently gearing up for his next ‘Cirkus’. Helmed by Rohit Shetty, the film also stars Johnny Lever, Varun Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mukesh Tiwari, and Siddharth Jadhav in pivotal roles.
