Drishyam 2 box office collection Day 16: Ajay Devgn’s film witnesses almost 100 percent growth on third Saturday | Hindi Movie News

It was a good Saturday at the Hindi box office as all three films Drishyam 2, Bhediya and An Action Hero witnessed good jump in box office collection. Ajay Devgn’s film saw an extraordinary jump on the third Saturday, almost 100 percent from Friday collections.

Drishyam 2 collected about Rs 8 crore nett on Day 16, reports Box Office India. Surprisingly the mass pockets had more growth than the bigger multiplexes, doubling the collection as compared to that of Friday. The film stands at a total collection of about Rs 172 crore nett. Mumbai circuit alone has contributed over Rs 67 crore nett to the total collection and the film is likely to beat Brahmastra by the end of the today.

Speaking to ETimes about the film’s performance, Drishyam 2 director Abhishek Pathak had said, “We did expect good feedback but this has gone up by three-four folds I would say. It has gone beyond what we thought, and we love it. Unanimously, everyone has loved it and it’s an awesome feeling for any filmmaker. We’re happy to be crossing the 150 crore mark. Somewhere in Hindi cinema, we were lacking good content that could bring in those numbers. But I’m so overwhelmed that people are going to the theatres to watch ‘Drishyam 2’. It has become like a festival.”
