Abhishek Bachchan comes on board for the Hindi remake of Tamil film Karuppu Durai

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan will soon be seen the Hindi remake of the Tamil film KD. It will be helmed by Madhumita Sundararaman who also directed the original Tamil version.

A source close to the production informed a news portal, that Abhishek would be playing KD in the Hindi version. Reportedly, Madhu has also made changes in the script to connect with the Hindi-speaking audiences.

The Tamil version was shot in the interiors of Tamil Nadu, while the Hindi version will be reportedly shot in Bhopal to bring an authentic rural feel to the film. According to India Today, the film’s schedule is said to be for 60 days and will be touted for a summer 2023 release. The pre-production work has already begun and the shooting will start in January 2023 after the December holidays.

Speaking of the film, the Tamil slice-of-life comedy revolves around an elderly man’s bond with an eight-year-old kid, who then go on an adventure together. In the film, KD learns that his family wants him dead. Things take a turn when he flees from home and meets a young boy in his journey. The original film starring Mu Ramaswamy and Nagar Vishal was a massive hit among fans and critics alike.

Meanwhile on the work front, Abhishek Bachchan will next be seen in R Balki’s ‘Ghoomer’ alongside Sayyami Kher and Angad Bedi.
