The advance bookings of Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ look encouraging | Hindi Movie News

The much awaited sequel of Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ is set to release this Friday, on November 18. The first part has turned out to be such a cult and become a part of the pop culture. For instance, memes are being circulated on what happened on October 2. Hence, ones hopes the sequel lives up to the expectations.

The advance bookings of ‘Drishyam 2’ have opened on Saturday evening and they look quite encouraging. Approximately, 20,000 tickets of the film have been sold in chains like PVR, Inox and Cinepolis for the opening day. Interestingly, this advance booking is much better than the combined advance booking of Devgn’s previous two films – ‘Thank God’ and ‘Runway 34’.

Clearly, there’s buzz around ‘Drishyam 2’ due to the goodwill created by its first part. If the sequel lives up the expectations and garners positive word of mouth then there will be further growth in its footfalls and collections. The sequel is directed by Abhishek Pathak and resumes its earlier cast including Ajay, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta. But this time around, there’s a new addition in the form of Akshaye Khanna and that also is making people curious for this one.


As of now, ‘Uunchai’ which released on November 11, is doing quite well at the box-office despite its limited number of 500 screens across the country. The film is doing much better than some other big films which released in 3000-4000 screens in the country. The positive word of mouth can further make its business grow in the coming days before ‘Drishyam 2’ releases and gives it competition. In the consecutive week post ‘Drishyam 2’, Varun Dhawan starrer ‘Bhediya’ is set to release, hence, one is hoping that ‘Drishyam 2’ proves its mettle in the first week itself.
