Bollywood has witnessed a lull at the box office post pandemic except for a handful of films that did wonders at the theatres. Be it Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha or Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, or Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj, Bachchhan Paandey and Raksha Bandhan, several tentpole Hindi movies have failed to attract the audience to the theatres . At a recent event, Akshay Kumar suggested solutions to revive the magic of Hindi films and bring the business of films back on track.

Emphasising on the fact that Bollywood needs to reinvent itself, Akshay suggested that actors need to slash their fee, and the ticket prices need to be reduced by 30-40% at least. “We have to dismantle and rebuild, reinvent everything. We have to start all over again. You have to do this if you want the public to come back to the theatre,” he asserted at the event.

Akshay was last seen in Ram Setu which was a Diwali release that has done decent business at the box office so far. Up next he has Selfiee, Soorarai Pottru remake, OMG 2, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Capsule Gill. It was recently revealed that he will not star in Hera Pheri 3 and Kartik Aaryan will be a new addition to the cast.
