Mumbai, June 13, 2025 – The Indian entertainment and business worlds are reeling from the sudden death of Sunjay Kapur, the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, who passed away at 53 in the United Kingdom on June 12, 2025.
Kapur, a well-known industrialist, reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack while playing polo, a sport he was passionate about.
According to reports, the tragedy unfolded during a polo match when a bee entered Kapur’s mouth, possibly triggering the heart attack. Despite immediate medical efforts, he could not be saved.
The news has left fans and colleagues in shock, given Kapur’s prominent ties to Bollywood through his marriage to Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016.
