At times creativity just strikes you and adds another layer to your creation. This is what exactly happened with Anu Malik, when he was composing a qawwali for Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na.
In a recent interview, Anu Malik disclosed that Javed Akhtar, who had written the qawwali for the song ‘Tumse Milke’ had objected to a few words that he had added. The music director revealed that he added the words ‘Check that, like that’ in the song, whileJaved Akhtar objected, saying how one can use English words in an Urdu number. The veteran lyricist even walked out in a huff.
Anu added that it was finally director Farah Khan who convinced Javed Saab to go for it as she wanted a funky qawwali and these four words just give it the right zing. The song went to be one of the biggest hits of the year, and Farah went on to direct films like Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year.
While Farah is busy putting her next film together, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to grace our screens with Atlee’s Jawan.
