Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi and Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies could face marketing budget cuts from their OTT platform: Report | Hindi Movie News

Reports indicate that Netflix is facing challenges in the Indian market, leading to reductions in the marketing budgets for their upcoming projects. The entry of Jio Cinema into the OTT space has intensified competition, with Amazon Prime Video securing many high-profile projects. Consequently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Heeramandi and Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies are expected to be the most affected, receiving limited promotional efforts.
While there is significant anticipation surrounding The Archies, especially due to the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, both The Archies and Heeramandi will experience budget cuts for their marketing campaigns. Netflix finds itself in a precarious position, as other players in the market possess substantial financial resources, and Amazon Prime Video has secured numerous noteworthy titles, leaving little room for others.
Notably, Sanjay Bhansali’s grand project, Heeramandi, will be released on Reed Hastings’ platform Netflix. However, the project received minimal mention in the email shared with the media, which outlined upcoming announcements. This is surprising considering Bhansali’s impressive track record. The star-studded cast includes Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, and Richa Chadha. It is worth noting that Ted Sarandos had previously met with Bhansali during his visit to the town a few months ago, underscoring the project’s significant potential.
