‘The Kerala Story’ box office collection week 3: The film heading towards 200 crores | Hindi Movie News

The Kerala Story‘ which released on May 5 has just continued to see a rise in its business due to word of mouth. The film which tells the story of three girls who were converted to Muslim and aims to raise awareness against terrorism has been in the news ever since its release. When it was banned in West Bengal, people got more curious about it and flocked to the theaters.
‘The Kerala Story’ collected around Rs 37 crore in its third week as per boxofficeindia.com. This brings the film total to Rs 195 crore nett and its strongly headed towards the 200 crore mark. The third week collection is less than ‘Pathaan’ which was 40 crore. The Adah Sharma starrer is expected to reach the 200 crore mark by Saturday and thus, it will be the fifth Hindi film to reach this mark – after ‘The Kashmir Files’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Drishyam 2’ and ‘Pathaan’.
The trade expects the lifetime business of the film to be in the range of Rs 225 crore. Last week’s release ‘Fast X‘ gave some competition to ‘The Kerala Story’ but this week there’s not any other major release. ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma along with ‘Aazam’ are releasing today. Among the Hollywood releases, there is ‘The Little Mermaid‘, hence ‘The Kerala Story’ is expected to hold well even in the coming week.
