The Kerala Story‘, which was released amid controversies, has been growing leaps and bounds with each passing day. The Adah Sharma starrer collected more than Rs 50 crore nett on its second weekend.
The Sudipto Sen directorial had an extraordinary second week as it grossed Rs 53.75 crore. The overall collection of the film now stands at Rs 131 crore nett, making it the second best of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan‘, a report in boxofficeIndia.com stated.

The report also added that the Vipul Shah film has performed very well in the Mumbai circuit in the state of Maharashtra. The film has also done fantastic in North but comparatively the numbers are lower than the Mumbai circuit.

In a recent interview with a news portal, Adah reacted to West Bengal banning the film. The actress said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is the jury for all the films and if they have decided to release the film then people should watch it and then form an opinion about it. According to her, banning the film without watching it is not right and that it is disrespectful to CBFC.
Adah also went on to add that despite all the controversies surrounding it and the protests, some people have been very supportive. She said that their entire team is very grateful to the audience who went to watch the film.
