The Adah Sharma starrer showed a growth of about 50 percent on its first Sunday as it minted Rs 16 crore at the box office. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 33.25 crore, a report in boxofficeIndia.com stated.
The weekend collection of the film has been the third highest of the year after Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ and Salman Khan starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.
The film has been taken out of cinemas in Tamil Nadu though it continues to be screened in Kerala.
The film garnered attention after the makers of the film released the trailer of the movie. It was criticised for earlier claiming that 32,000 girls from Kerala went missing and joined the terrorist group, ISIS, later. After facing criticism, The Kerala Story team withdrew the figure. In its trailer description, the film’s team called it the story of three women from Kerala.
