Sara Ali Khan reveals she never relied on her parents’ connections to make a foray into the film industry

Sara Ali Khan, it seems has inherited the best genes from both her parents. From Saif Ali Khan, her father, she has inherited her love for travel and the desire to see the whole world, and from her mother Amrita, she has inherited her simple, emotional nature and the desire to never pretend to be somebody that she is not.
The star kid was talking about her parents in an interview with Anupama Chopra, just after her debut at the Cannes Film Festival where she impressed everyone with her confidence, her clean good looks and style. Sara wore a mix of designer wear from India and the west – and wowed everyone with her opening attire, a pretty embroidered lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep.
In the interview, Sara disclosed that she has never piggy-backed on her parent’s connections and chosen instead to build her own “very independent equations” with people in the film world. And for that, she openly thanked her mother who encouraged her to what she referred to as “chalking out her own journey”.
After her splash at Cannes, Sara is now awaiting the release of her new film, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke with Vicky Kaushal. Both play a very-much-in-love couple from Indore who later fall out with each other and decide to part ways. But will they? That’s for her fans to find out.
