Reports have been doing the rounds that Salman Khan and Karan Johar are finally reuniting for the big screen after 25 years. In 1998, Salman had made a cameo in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and since then the two have not worked together. Though they came close for a collaboration on Shuddhi and Kesari in the last 10 years, things did not materialise then. But this time around, things are seemingly falling into the right place.
According to an entertainment portal, Karan approached Salman with a sweet human drama with a young director in October 22. It was a father-daughter story and they had two meetings. But the conversation was put on hold because Salman was not keen to do a human drama at that time. He asked Karan if he could come back with something bigger.
In January 2023, Karan got back to Salman with another film with Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan. They had around 10-12 meetings together and the trio have discussed several aspects of the film. However, there’s nothing on paper as of now and currently they are trying to make their collaboration work.

There was a buzz that this film would be Salman’s next Eid in 2024 but the report confirmed that it would not be an Eid release. It states that if Salman agrees to do a film, then the movie will go into pre-production and casting stage in 2-3 months. The movie is then expected to go on floors in November 2023 to the earliest. Since the movie is going to be made on a big scale and it will require a lot of work, the team will take decisions as things start materialising.
Salman is currently prepping for the last schedule of his much-awaited film Tiger 3 with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. The movie will also see Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo as Pathaan. After wrapping Tiger 3 by May end, Salman would possibly take a call on Karan’s film. By then, he would also get clarity on shooting timelines for Tiger vs Pathaan.
