Ranbir Kapoor has never shied away from expressing his views on showbiz and how Hindi cinema has evolved over the years. During a recent virtual chat with fans, the seasoned actor once again talked about the current scenario of Bollywood. According to him, the Hindi film industry seems to be a bit confused and has largely been influenced by Western culture in the last 20 years or so. He also feels that Bollywood is not giving new people an opportunity to showcase their talent.
While interacting with fans Ranbir was asked about what’s lacking in the Hindi film industry. The actor promptly said that what’s lacking in the Hindi film industry is really knowing the audience. He thinks that somewhere in the last 10, 15, or 20 years, the Hindi film industry has been quite confused and influenced by Western culture, Western films, and remakes.
The ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ star whose name has often come up in nepotism debate also shared that new talents aren’t getting the opportunities they need. According to him, the new minds in the business are essential for new stories. Ranbir admits that there are very few actors and actresses, and opportunities for new people are extremely rare these days but in order to grow, new directors and new minds are also required. The actor thinks it’s very important to give them an opportunity because that’s when the change happens, that’s when new minds come and new stories are being told. However, Ranbir hopes that things will change soon.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Luv Ranjan-directed ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ opposite Shraddha Kapoor. The film became a massive hit at the box office earning almost Rs 150 crore and was appreciated by audiences and critics alike. Up next for Ranbir is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated film ‘Animal’. The film will see Ranbir sharing the screen with Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol.
