Rajkumar Santoshi blames Salman Khan and Aamir Khan for Andaz Apna Apna box office failure | Hindi Movie News

Director Rajkumar Santoshi‘s 1994 cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna still remains one of the most loved and entertaining films in Bollywood. Though the film was declared as a flop at the box office, the Salman Khan and Aamir Khan starrer eventually found its audience over the years. However, in a new interview, Rajkumar has blamed Salman and Aamir for the box office failure of Andaz Apna Apna.
Speaking to a news portal, Rajkumar said that both Salman and Aamir were unavailable for the film’s promotions. He said that people did not notice the film because Salman had just had his first release Maine Pyar Kiya.
The filmmaker said that Andaz Apna Apna was a completely different story with more comedy, adventure, and humour than romance. It was a unique film and people took time to understand. When it was released 29 years ago, the distributors were also newcomers.

He then said that neither Salman nor Aamir was in the city to promote the film since they were shooting somewhere else. There was no activity, no media interaction and everything that needs to be done for the publicity of the film. He added that the distributors were also very angry.
While there have been several reports about the possible remake or sequel of Andaz Apna Apna, Rajkumar said that there is no scope as the film looks fresh even today. He also added that whoever tries to make a remake of this evergreen film will drown because it is not possible to make such a film again.
Apart from Salman and Aamir, Andaz Apna Apna also featured Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor among others in prominent roles.
