Gangs of Wasseypur is undoubtedly a landmark film in the filmography of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Among the many impactful scenes in the film, one was inspired by his real life love story as the actor revealed in a recent interview.
Nawazuddin essays the role of gangster Sardar Khan’s son Faisal Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s film. Huma Qureshi is paired opposite him and scene in question is the one where Huma says ‘permission leni chahiye’. Nawaz explained that it was one of his girlfriends who told him that he must seek her permission before touching her.
Nawaz shared that Anurag remembered this incident of his girlfriend that he had narrated during one of the workshops and decided to use it in the film. He made Huma and Nawaz sit near a lake and they did the whole scene in a single take.
Nawaz was recently seen in Sudhir Mishra’s Afwaah. Up next, he has several films lined up for release. He will lead Kangana Ranaut’s first production, Tiku Weds Sheru. He also has Noorani Chehra, Bole Chudiyan, Haddi and Sangeen in the pipeline.
