Nawazuddin Siddiqui reveals he will only do lead roles now even if he has to pay for the film himself

Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently said that he will only be doing lead roles in movies now. The actor also added that he need not be a hero but the role must be important in the narrative.
In an interview with a news portal, Nawazuddin said that he will still work with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh if it is a strong role in a big film. According to him, the distinction between lead and side roles matter in this industry. In Europe or Hollywood, it does not matter. But here, supporting actors are relegated to secondary roles. Nawaz added that he has been successful in escaping and that he doesn’t want to repeat that. He stated that he will only do lead roles even if he has to invest money in the film himself.

Elaborating further, Nawazuddin added that it does not mean he will only play the roles of the hero. Citing an example of his character from ‘Raees’, he said that he played a role that was opposite Shah Rukh and it was important. He did ‘Heropanti 2‘ even if it did not work, but his character was a major one. Nawaz added that those are the kind of roles that the actor is looking for in big films now.

Nawazuddin was last seen in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Afwaah’. He will next be seen in ‘Jogira Sa Ra Ra Ra‘. Directed by Kushan Nandy, the upcoming film has been written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali and also features Neha Sharma, Sanjay Mishra, Mahakshay Chakraborty and Zarina Wahab.
Nawazuddin also has projects like ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, ‘Noorani Chehra’, ‘Bole Chudiyan’ and ‘Haddi’ in the pipeline.
