Kangana Ranaut has often talked about her struggles when she first came to Mumbai to become an actress. In a new interview, Kangana revealed that she was humiliated for her height when she was doing modelling assignments in Delhi.
She recalled that when she came to Mumbai for a saree catalogue shoot in 2004, she refused to go back to her agency in Delhi. She tore her return ticket to stay in Mumbai because people did not treat her kindly in the capital city.
She also threw away the phone her agency had given to her. When they called her back to Delhi, Kangana told them that she doesn’t want to go back. She said that she didn’t want to work in a place where she was getting constantly humiliated.

Kangana then added that most of the girls who walked on the ramp were as tall as 5’11 while she was around 5’7. She said that she was benched throughout the day. She was told that nothing will work out for her in modelling.
The actress said that when she stayed back in Mumbai, she started auditioning for acting roles. She then went on to bag her first film Gangster (2006), produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. It also featured Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja in the lead.
On the work front, Kangana, who was last seen on screen in Dhaakad, will be seen in Emergency, Chandramukhi 2, Tejas, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda and The Incarnation: Sita.
