The actor, who is teaming up with director Atlee for the first time, has had fans eagerly anticipating the film’s release, which is slated for June 2. However, new reports state that the movie may now be postponed and will release at a later date.
Unconfirmed reports claim that Shah Rukh Khan will release his film on June 29 instead of June 2, as the team seems to be running behind on their schedule. Reports state that if the team was set on releasing the film on June 2, the teaser, trailer and promotional events would have ideally started by the first week of May.
Meanwhile, the film’s production house has maintained stoic silence about their promotional slate, further fuelling rumours. Reports also state that the makers are now eyeing a June 29 release as the film can enjoy an extended four-day weekend and get a boost in box office collections over the Bakri Eid holiday.
Moreover, the Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Yodha’ and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Dream Girl 2’ also postponed their release dates. At the time it was believed that they opted to delay their release to avoid a clash with the Shah Rukh starrer.
Interestingly, it remains to be seen if Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani will stick to their release on June 29, should SRK and team ‘Jawan’ decide to postpone their film.
While Red Chillies has not confirmed any details about ‘Jawan’, reports confirmed on Monday that Shah Rukh would begin shooting for ‘Tiger 3‘ with Salman Khan next week. The two superstars are reportedly gearing up to film a one-of-its-kind action scene together that fans will get to enjoy when it hits the big screens later this year.
‘Jawan’ also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles. The film will also have Deepika Padukone in a special song sequence.
