Back in 2001, two films created history as both released on the same day – one was Lagaan and another was Gadar-Ek Prem Katha. Now, 22 years later, the makers of Gadar who are already working on the sequel of the film are planning to take the audience down the memory lane by re-releasing the original one. Reports suggest that the film is all set to re-release on June 9, the original film’s release date.
Reports also suggest that the team behind the film wants to celebrate the legacy of Gadar and also use the film as an introduction before the second part is unveiled to the audience. The film has been converted in the 4K format with enhanced sound system and it will re-release not only in multiplexes, but also in single screens, just like the original. The film had done really well in single screens in mass belt.
Gadar 2 is set against the backdrop of 1971 India – Pakistan war and stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. While the first part saw Sunny Deol’s character travel to Pakistan to get his wife back, this time around he would go to get his son back.
