Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s lavish wedding reception on Sunday night had the who’s who of the Hindi film industry making their presence felt. As a star guest from venue said, “Yeh matt poochiye kaun aaya hai. Yeh poochiye kaun nahin aaya hai (Don’t ask about who has arrived. Ask about who hasn’t).”
Among those conspicuous by their absence were Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Their better halves Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt were accompanied by Karan Johar and Neetu Kapoor, respectively.
So where were Saif and Ranbir? Some probing revealed they were very much in town.

“Well, Alia and Sidharth have a history, so maybe Ranbir stayed away. As for Saif he just doesn’t know Sidharth or Kiara well enough. Also, as a rule he doesn’t attend parties,” a source in the know reveals. The reception also saw the reclusive Sanjay Leela Bhansali making a rare appearance.

A source reveals that in spite of non-stop shooting for Heeramandi, Bhansali took time off because Kiara was keen. At the reception Bhansali was seen fraternizing with his blow-hot-blow-cold friend, composer Ismail Durbar. Durbar has been in a sulk with Bhansali since the filmmaker did not offer him any work in Heeramandi.
