Fans of the hilarious ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise have been eagerly waiting for an update on the third instalment, especially after Akshay Kumar had announced that he is moving on.
However a recent development suggests that the original cast may reunite for ‘Hera Pheri 3’. On Saturday, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty had a long meeting with the franchise producer Firoz Nadiadwala, reports Pinkvilla. Post this meeting, it is likely that the original trio of Raju, Shyam and Baburao will reunite for the third part, but with a new director. The makers will reportedly announce the project soon with the original team and the director they finalise. Last year Akshay Kumar had said that he has backed out of the franchise because he was not satisfied with the script that was offered to him.

ETimes had exclusively reported that ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is likely to go on floors around October 2023 and the first schedule will take place in Mumbai. We had also revealed that Anees Bazmee is being considered to helm the film.
‘Hera Pheri’, helmed by Priyadarshan, released in 2000. Its sequel ‘Phri Hera Pheri’ hit the screens in 2006 and was directed by late Neeraj Vora. Both the films were massively popular with the fans.
