Aamir Khan mourns the loss of his Lagaan co-star Javed Khan Amrohi, calls him a ‘pure heart’ | Hindi Movie News

Aamir Khan Productions has mourned the loss of veteran actor Javed Khan Amrohi, who passed away on February 14 due to lung failure at a hospital. The actor was associated with Aamir’s production banner through the Oscar nominated film Lagaan. He was also a member of the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA).
Paying a heartfelt tribute to Javed Khan, the official Twitter handle of Aamir Khan’s productions tweeted, “Javed Ji, You never failed to fill the room with joy and warmth. Your pure heart and positive energy will be dearly missed.”

According to the reports, Javed was suffering from breathing ailment and was bedridden for the past one year. He was undergoing treatment at Surya Nursing Home in suburban Mumbai.

Apart from Lagaan, the late actor has worked with Aamir in the cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna. He is best known for playing the barber Karim in the late 1980s TV show Nukkad. In Lagaan, he played the role of Ram Singh, the Indian who works with British and helps Elizabeth in translating local language.

Many Bollywood celebrities including Shabana Azmi, Suniel Shetty among others also paid their heartfelt condolences on social media platforms. He was 74.
