SS Rajamouli’s RRR has achieved a rare feat of winning India a Golden Globes honour and at the centre of this achievement is composer MM Keeravani. The award for Best Original Song went to the exhilarating Naatu Naatu and it’s wowed everyone from India to the USA.
ETimes reached out to Bollywood’s best to record their reactions to this historic win. First Saif Ali Khan reacted and said, “Congrats to the team! It’s great that we are involved in international award functions.” Next was composer-singer Adnan Sami, who had earlier in the day made a pertinent point on social media that this win for MM Keeravani is a feat for all India and not just Telugu Cinema. Sami said, “I’m extremely happy and proud. It’s a great achievement for Telugu Cinema which in turn is a great pride for Indian Cinema and indeed, India! My prayers are with the entire team to win every award in the world, especially the Oscars!”

ETimes also spoke to R Madhavan, whose Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is also in contention for international acclaim. Madhavan said, “So very very happy for MM Keeravani and team RRR for doing us proud. Well and truly deserved. It’s a number that might even get me to dance and that’s huge (laughs).”
Urmila Matondkar expressed her excitement and said, “Spectacular! So well deserved. MM Keeravani gave such a humble and wonderful speech at the Golden Globes ceremony as well. Such a massive body of work and then this glory to top it all. Way to go!!!”

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta revealed, “Such a proud moment. Many congratulations to Keeravani and the RRR team. He is such an underrated composer unlike many of his more high profile contemporaries. Such brilliant melodies over the years. Now for the Oscars!”
