The makers held a screening of the film which was attended by the cast and crew. Hansal was seen with his actors while several celebs attended the film’s screening. Rajkummar Rao was seen with Patralekha in a deep discussion about the film. Meanwhile, one saw Mahesh Bhatt also at the screening. Huma Qureshi, Dia Mirza also walked by and looked beautiful as always. Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah came in with wife Ratna Pathak Shah and the talented couple posed for the paparazzi as well.
All the celebs seem to be impressed by the film. Recently, Mehta was criticised for making this film. A user wrote on Twitter, “You should be ashamed of yourself. You are a shameless person. You are exploiting a horrifying tragedy for profit without asking the permission of victims family. Why don’t you make film about incidents from your own country?”
Hansal gave him an apt response and linked an article. The said article spoke at length about artistic freedom, allowing grief to permeate into censorship and cancel culture. It also mentioned that the attack was related to many larger national and global trends.
The film was also in controversies and the mothers of two victims had opposed its release on the ground of invasion of privacy. The court passed an order that showing the film to the family may bring the end to their matter since the filmmakers wouldn’t want their film to remain in the can.
