‘I would love to work with Shah Rukh Khan again, because I’m a huge fan,’ says ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ actor Ahsaas Channa – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News

One look at the beautiful Ahsaas Channa and you wouldn’t believe that she played Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta‘s son in Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’. The actress is quite a known name on the OTT space now, with projects like ‘Hostel Daze’, ‘Kota Factory’ and ‘Mismatched’. She was recently seen in ‘Salesman Of The Year’.
We’ve always seen that child actors have a tough time breaking their image and being accepted when they grow into adults. Ask Ahsaas if she ever experienced that and she says, “This is the fear I had. As I was growing up, everyone kept saying that there’s a myth about child actors that they don’t get good work when they grow up. There are so many people who don’t even remember that I was the same kid. I think I’ve been very lucky. Just choosing the correct work also matters. At the end of the day, the kind of work you do and the hard work you put in, is all on you. I’ve tried to break the whole child actor imagery by doing some bold characters on the OTT space. Honestly, I’ve also been lucky that I’ve not been stereotyped for being a child actor.”

Ahsaas admits that she’s learnt acting on the job because she started working so young. She adds, “I was 4 when I started working, so I didn’t choose this path, it chose me. I was a dramatic, happy, child. My mom has always been an actor and she was in touch with some casting people. I started doing ads when I was younger. I did ‘Vastu Shastra’ and since then I’ve been acting. This is all I wanted to do. This is a very clear goal I’ve set since I was very young. My mother has groomed me into becoming an actor. Apart from that, from a young age, I got the opportunity to work with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and be on the same set as Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji… So all that really shaped me into the actor I am today. So, I’ve learnt acting by growing up with these people.”
Ask Ahsaas if she wants to be seen again in a Karan Johar movie after ‘KANK’ or if KJo or SRK are aware of her work and she admits, “I’ve not even bumped into them ever. But, I’ve auditioned for Dharma so much in the last few months. I also got selected for a part recently but it didn’t work out due to the dates. So, I know Karan Johar is aware and has seen my work. I definitely want to work with him again. And Shah Rukh Khan, I really love him and want to work with him again because I’m a huge fan of his!” While one isn’t sure if SRK has seen her recent work, Ahsaas confesses, “But I’ve heard from mutual friends that Aryan Khan has seen my work and has liked it.”

Ahsaas is currently shooting for the finale season of ‘Hostel Daze’. She will be seen next in a show with Shilpa Shukla titled ‘Jail No 6’.
