Abhay Deol is not surprised by the ‘Pathaan’ controversy; says 50 years later people will laugh at this stupidity | Hindi Movie News

Ever since the first song from Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham starrer ‘Pathaan’ – ‘Besharam Rang’ has been unveiled, it has found itself into various controversies. A few groups have raised an objection to the song and especially the colour of Deepika’s saffron bikini in it. Many celebs have given their opinion on it and now Abhay Deol says he isn’t surprised with it.
Abhay is known to be quite honest about expressing his opinions and in an interview with India Today, the ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ actor expressed that this controversy is not unimaginable and can happen quite easily. He said that if one looks at the world today, it is polarised. If anyone wants to make an issue of something, one can easily doing. Many people have done it before and will continue to do that.

The actor further added that social media and technology have made information so fast and it’s also disinformation at so many levels. There is a tendency to also reduce things to a headline. There is inconsistency everywhere, whether it’s the media or people consuming the media. Abhay also added that banning doesn’t necessarily make it go away; the subject goes underground.
Abhay feels that maybe 50 years from now, people will look back and laugh at the stupidity. The actor will be seen next on ‘Trial By Fire’ which is releasing on January 13 on OTT.
