‘Uunchai’ earns more than opening day on Monday, crosses total of Rs 11 crore | Hindi Movie News

Sooraj Barjatya helmed buddy drama ‘Uunchai’ has managed to fly through the Monday test. The movie has score more than its opening day on Monday.

Early trend suggests that ‘Uunchai’ has earned Rs 1.75 crore nett on Monday, crossing its day one collection of Rs 1.65 crore nett. The film had had more shows than the first day, earning a total collection of over Rs 11 crore nett in four days, reports boxofficeindia. The film had witnessed a positive trend in almost all the circuits. Going by this trend, ‘Uunchai’ is expected to earn Rs 16 crore nett at the end of its first weekend, if there is not much of a drop in collection in the coming days. However, this Friday, Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ will hit the screens and pose come competition for ‘Uunchai’.

‘Uunchai’ features Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Danny Denzongpa as close friends, with Sarika, Neena Gupta and Parineeti Chopra essaying pivotal roles.

Recently Anupam Kher had revealed that he turned down ‘Uunchai’. The actor had shared, “I had to decline the role when Sooraj Ji first approached me due to personal issues and work obligations. Then, one fine day, I received a call from Anupam Kher. Before I could say hello, he began ranting at me. Anupam just heard the script read by Sooraj sir and was so moved by it that he was curious to find out who all were in it. He made the call as soon as he heard that I had rejected the movie. I knew that behind all of the scolding was pure love, friendship, and his care for me. He genuinely wanted me to do this film because, according to him, I would be a part of history. He was certain that with this cast, ‘Uunchai’ would smash records. And he was correct; I had the best time of my life while working on this film; it was a spiritual experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
