Karan Johar announced a few days back that Sara Ali Khan will be a part of his production’s new film. The film is titled ‘Ae Watan’ and from that itself one can gauge that the film would be brimming with patriotism.

Etimes exclusively captured Sara shooting for her film today, holding the tricolour in her hand. She’s also having an all-new look, in a kurta, pyjama with Nehru jacket. Sara plays a freedom fighter in the film which is set against the backdrop of the 1942 Quit India Movement.

Varun Dhawan had made this announcement some time back, in Sara’s poetic style through this fun video. ‘Ae Watan’ is directed by Kannan Iyer. Apart from this film, Sara will also be seen next in a love story with Vicky Kaushal directed by Laxman Utekar for which she has finished shooting. She will also be seen in ‘Gaslight’ with Vikrant Massey.

Meanwhile, Sara has just returned from Goa after attending the IFFI (International Film Festival Of India) where she bonded with her ‘Coolie No. 1’ co-star Varun at the beach.
