Anupam Kher, who has about three successful films to his credit this year, recently opened up about the highs and lows of his career.

In an interview with a news portal, the veteran actor revealed that he got facial paralysis before a major scene in ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ and the doctor had asked him to stay at home for two months and cancel the shooting. However, he went to the sets and finished the shooting the same day.

Elaborating further, Anupam added that in 2004, he almost went bankrupt, apparently because he was not a business-minded person and then he started all over again. According to the actor, he is the total of his failures. Kher also recalled people started calling him thespian, veteran, and legend – which meant you should be given a lifetime achievement award and walk into the sunset. However, the actor refused to do that. He went abroad and did an American series. After turning 60, people thought about retirement but he started building his body, Anupam told Hindustan Times.

Anupam was seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ earlier this year which went on to become a blockbuster at the box office. He was also a part of ‘Kathikeya 2’ which was also a huge success. The actor also claimed to be the only actor who has given Rs 480 crore films this year.

He was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Uunchai’ which also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, Sarika and Parineeti Chopra. The film is currently showing a promising trend at the box office.
