In the third “Conjuring” movie, Ed and Lorraine Warren tirelessly work to convince a court of law — thus, the audience — that Satanism exists. Full review

The NYTimes

With James Wan no longer at the helm, the third Conjuring movie feels more like a weary episode of an old detective TV show than the metaphysical, kinetic, and terrifying previous entries. Full review

The question about the franchise is not where it can go from here, but how much longer it can be sustained by humdrum deviltry. Full review

The Conjuring 3 continues the paranormal adventures of the Warren couple. And for the third installment of the duo’s based on true event story, the producers opted for something different than the previous two. No longer directed by James Wan, this time the film is helmed by Michael Chaves, who back in 2019, directed another horror movie called The Curse of La Llorona. An enjoyable but rather unremarkable horror movie. But the fact that he has directed a horror movie before, meant that he wasn …MORE

The Conjuring series has always been the best this universe had to offer and part 3 is no exception. The two leads Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have always anchored the series with their genuine husband and wife performance giving the series a lot of heart and soul which is unheard of horror stories now days. It is their chemistry and soul that mainly carry this franchise and anytime they are on screen its a joy to watch. This was true to Annabelle 3 as well where their minor appearance did a …MORE

The third chapter of the “core” CONJURING films had a lot to live up to. Judging from the previews, it looked as if this would be a murder mystery/horror combo that would reignite the franchise, and make us forget those lousy spinoffs. So did it work?

Yes and no. THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT feels a tad more jumbled, as if a hundred pieces of a creative puzzle were never fully assembled. The film also feels somewhat rushed, with the story abandoning the legal aspects of the case and leaving certain  …MORE

I m giving this flick 4* just coz I love conjuring universe and I want it to b continuing…

I don’t know about the others but for me, Conjuring Universe is the best. This film franchise will really give you the scare, the thrill, the suspense, and almost everything a horror movie has to offer. Since it was based on real events, I must say that the cast and crew did gave justice to its real story. The cast led by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, was amazing. Their acting performance are excellent, as if they are really the Warrens. They totally nailed it! This movie is a must watch and  …MORE

I have always been a huge fan of the conjuring series. I will go to my grave saying that the conjuring series is the best modern day horror to grace this planet. When I heard a third conjuring movie was being made, I was ecstatic but nervous. I figure, normally by the third movie, a series starts to go downhill, but I think they really knocked the ball out of the park with this one. Right from the start, this movie is way more intense than the other two. I also really enjoyed how this case was v …MORE

I just watched this film this afternoon and I`d say it didn`t let me down. The Conjuring 3 saved and continued the style of the two previous and brought us a resonbale, thrilling, and interesting story. No dull moment in this film, jump scares and terrifying music just appeared at appropriate time. I am satisfied with these (My heart actually skipped a beat when one of a  jump scares appeared but I cannot tell you this scene XD). Many feel more like a detective TV show but I do not think it is d …MORE

I really enjoyed the movie. It directly doesn’t fall into pure horror as it had been showing in past 2 conjuring series which was haunted house .This one more like a crime mystery -solving a witch craft that cursed specific people to serve the Satan .Well cooked n excellent  level of acting from Vera n Patric (Lorraine +Ed). If u r looking for too much jump scares, more scary irrelevant noises, too much dark n gory then this 3rd installment isn’t this way .Decent plot ,true story with a new star …MORE

This Movie Is Really good, I’ve never watched the other 2 Movies but I really liked this one. It’s Not too scary but it has a great story and powerful visuals and great actors and actresses. I also can’t believe this is based on a true story but I don’t think that the demonic possession is actually real it can’t be. But this movie was still great it’s easy to keep up with and to know what’s happening and I would definitely recommend this if you like a scary and suspenseful movie with a good stor …MORE

This movie is highly a 3 star movie for me. It was casually horrifying. There are few good scenes but this movie is just an average. If you are a fan of conjuring universe this one is for you there are things that we really don’t understand in this world and it is about that.

This movie is not about spirit or possession it is about spell casting dark magic or one can say witch crafting in which a person is not possessed but he or she really is controlled. They can hear voices in their head.

It don’t scares us most. But it follows an epic story line. Within first ten 10 minutes were able to see an epic scene. I was not able control  my laugh when the lawyer who took Arne’s case after Ed and Lorraine invited her for dinner. And what a coincidence, Elvis Presley’s Suspicious Minds was used in both Army Of The Dead and this film. The flashback scenes of Lorraine were as always haunting. The climax scene the kind of fight scene between that female Satan Worshiper Vs. Lorraine was awesom …MORE

Waiting for this movie from  a long time and now it is finally out.

The film was  cut above  than I thought , jump scars are way better than i expected.

The movie throwed a chill down my spine when i got to know it is based on a true story and the exact true story when i searched on web.

The best part of the movie was the acting of each and every cast member, even the shortest duration of act by a actor was performed wonderfully.

The protagonist acted their part  perfectly.

2.5 stars. I have really high hopes coming into this movie. I want to explore more cases that The Warren has been associated with. when I read The Devil made me do case, I was intrigued by the history behind it. unfortunately, I was let down drastically.

I was hoping that this movie is going to be kind of a courtroom style like The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The warren shows these tapes of recordings that they recorded and get sucked into the tape and saw it first hand what happen. But it didn’ …MORE

Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It.

Definitely this movie is filled with cliches which neither the first nor the second had. The conjuring was filled with real horror watch the first part to understand why The Conjuring was so good. There was plenty of time given to establish the scene and you could sense the scare but this movie is filled with cliches nothing much but a mystery tale. Well, for starters in this pandemic everything seems much better than what is really going out in the world s …MORE

Was a bit let down by The Conjuring 3. It’s important to note that the goal of this movie was to focus on the Warrens and their investigation which is why it was less scary than the first 2 and sidetracked. Also, the actual “Devil Made Me Do It” case had nothing to do with witchcraft. This storyline was fabricated solely in order to tie the Conjuring universe together. The same cult, Disciples of the Ram, is present in the Annabelle movies. We can most likely plan on seeing more of this cult pop …MORE

Changes in a horror franchise are often complicated. For both the filmmakers and the viewers.

Many times there’s talk of wanting a change, but deep down, they really don’t want it.

They want the same scares, they just hope to be caught off guard.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do shows a strong change by losing James Wan as a director, since the atmosphere of the films he made is still there, but not the tone, and the most positive points of the film lie more in the work of the main duo, tha …MORE

Donot be fooled by the 57% of Rotten tomatoes, or any critic reviews for that matter.

This movie is pure gold. Not as great as the first one ofcourse, but still an amazing entry.

The major difference between the third chapter and the previous two is of the proportion of “storytelling” to “jumpscares”. The first movie (2013) had plenty of fresh ways to scare the audience, but it’s basic story revolves around a haunted-house-esque-drama. The second (2016) though had plenty of twists and turns  …MORE

Movie was incredible and a wild ride. As a fan of the conjuring universe I was not disappointed. The makers of this movie made something unique as I would not even call this a full blown horror film, but actually a detective movie. With out spoilers this movie follows The Warrens trying to solve small cases that lead up to the main case making the plot fantastic.

(sort of spoilers) The villain in the movie is not like any antagonist that we have seen in any of the conjuring universe films. Rat …MORE

I absolutely LOVED this movie. Im such a sucker for murder/crime cases and the thrill of horror movies and demonic possession and this movie gave me both of those things at once!! It definitely keeps you on your toes and always makes you second guess if you really know what’s going to happen next. As always, Ed and Lorraine Warren are the perfect duo and make the movie all the greater, but overall this movie is one of the BEST horror movies i’ve seen so far and I hope to see another conjuring in …MORE

I’d have to say that I appreciate Michael Chaves’ style of direction, but can’t help but feel that the third chapter in the series is the weakest of all, and more or less, disappointing. The visuals are awesome, though I despise the amount of CGI used.

What set the first movie apart from the others, was the atmospheric horror, Wan’s signature style, and the fact that it was a simple story, not trying to stuff much. The color scheme was actually giving off those creepy vibes, though I know that’ …MORE

The entire Conjuring franchise has always impressed me. As a big fan of the paranormal investigators, Ed and Loraine, I was quite excited about the 3rd film in the franchise. The Devil Made Me Do It case is one that shocked the whole of America in 1981. The director Chaves has represented the Arne Johnson case beautifully but I couldn’t say I was thrilled on watching the movie. I guess I was expecting something really good this time around (like the previous ones). This movie had one terrifying  …MORE

When the first use of the soundtrack started , I thought , I wish they gave it some point of reference, like a radio , and they did , which was great. Good usage with the soundtrack . Nice picks for songs and they sounded good . Excellent use of period furniture props. Caveat, a Shudder Horror piece, type hole in the wall Hallucinogenics type possessions . Convergence . I really enjoyed watching from beginning to end. I am a fan of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson: their acting is so believable and beautiful – I wish they were a couple in real life! The story line is full of horror moments, never boring and the fact that it is inspired by true events and the work of Ed and Lorraine Warren, makes it even more scary to watch! Both my friends and I enjoyed this movie very much, perhaps even more than the first two “Conjuring” movies of the trilogy.

As always, The Conjuring is the best it can be with yet another sequel! Ever since this special universe has been created it’s been one of the top leading horror franchises and it never fails to deliver. The Conjuring is my favorite horror franchise ever and this sequel just makes me want this series to go on forever! I hope they make a Conjuring 4 or an Annabelle 4, I seriously don’t want this to end. To you Conjuring fans, carry on and give this a watch!

First of all I must say that I’m a big fan of horror ganre and I literally LOVE The Conjuring 1 & 2 but the third part of The Conjuring has some advantages and disadvantages that I’m gonna tell my opinions about it.

If you expect The Conjuring 3 to be a crime/detective mystery movie , you will enjoy every minute of it without a doubt. But if you look at The Conjuring 3 as a horror/thriller one, I should say it will definitely fail you because not only the movie is not scary, also it’s full of  …MORE

This movie just came out where I live. Since theaters are closed, I had to watch it on Rogers on Demand. Before the movie even started I knew it wasn’t going to be as good as the others. Simply because on the Rogers rating warning, this movie was 14+. So I wasn’t very surprised that by the end of the movie, I thought it was…. Fine. Anyway here’s my thoughts —

Instead of James Wan, the director of this movie was Michael Chaves, the same person that direct the curse of La Lorona. And just lik …MORE

The film was scary , terrifying , intense and rather disturbing to the point that it’s sends shivers down your spine. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson acting was spot on as always, never disappoints. The makeup and special effects were very good , there were a few typical scenes in the movie. I thought the overall film was amazing and was by far the scariest one of all 3. I think 4 stars is well deserved , can’t Waite to get this film on dvd.
